Bon dimanche à tous !
Avec tout ce froid qui s’est abattu sur la France, je n’ai pas lésiné en tricot : il me fallait un bonnet pour protéger mes oreilles de la neige.
Ce projet, même s’il est simple en pratique, c’est le plus grand défis que je me suis imposée jusqu’à maintenant : premier bonnet, premier patron en ANGLAIS, première fois avec des aiguilles doubles pointes et nouvelle laine à tester.
J’ai eu quelques sueurs froides, je ne m’en cache pas !

With this cold weather that came in France, I knitted A LOT: I needed a hat to protect my ears from the snow.
This project, although pretty simple in practice, is the biggest challenge that I did so far: first hat, first pattern in ENGLISH, first time with double pointed needles and a new wool to test.
I had some difficulties, I must admit it!

Après avoir traduit les légendes, c’est allé tout seul ! Bon ok j’avoue, j’ai demandé de l’aide à Izzie une fois ou deux, et j’ai pas mal paniqué lorsque j’ai dû prendre les aiguilles doubles pointes…
Mais je suis contente car je n’ai pas fait trop de bêtises au final ^^

After translating the legends, it was quite easy! Ok I admit, I had to ask Izzie for help once or twice, and I quite panicked when I had to knit with double pointed needles …
But I’m happy because, in the end, I have not done too many mystakes ^^

Bonjour à tous ! Je n’étais pas très présente sur la toile ce weekend, et je m’en excuse. Mais ce n’est pas parce que je me suis tournée les pouces, bien au contraire !
– J’ai cousu une petite pochette qui respire l’été, pour remonter le moral à une amie.

– Pour accompagner l’écharpe celtique, j’ai tricoté des mitaines torsadées pour la dame. C’est le modèle Swirling, fait en Partner 3.5 couleur Naval (Phildar). Le modèle est simple, mais il me plait toujours autant !

– To go with the Celtic scarf, I knitted cable mittens for the lady. This is the Swirling pattern, knitted with Partner 3.5 color Navy (Phildar). The pattern is simple, but I still like it!

– J’ai commencé un projet un peu particulier pour moi : le bonnet Rosebud. Premier bonnet, premier patron en anglais… Beaucoup de sueurs froides !

– J’ai gagné l’ébook de « Botanical Knits » grâce à Knitted Bliss !!! Je pense commencer par le bonnet « Pressed Leaves » ou les mitaines « Spring Foliage ». J’hésite encore !…

– Et surtout, j’ai appris à deux copines à tricoter !!! Elles ont bientôt terminé leur premier tricot, je suis hyper fière ! Et elles ont déjà d’autres projets en tête : elles ont le virus… ^^

Echarpe Celtique

Cette écharpe, c’est un peu mon projet « boulet » : commencé en décembre, tout juste terminée hier. Après avoir tricoté les 3/4 de l’écharpe, je n’en pouvais plus, c’est trop looooong ! Je l’ai mise de côté pendant de longues semaines, et ai fini par la resortir il y a peu car un de mes proches la voulait.
Après avoir vu « Le Hobbit », j’ai eu une grande envie de torsades et de motifs celtiques. Ni une, ni deux, je parcours sans relâche les galeries de Ravelry, toutes plus belles les unes que les autres, et je tombe sur le projet parfait : L’écharpe Celtique, de Petit Bout de Moi.
Le patron fait un peu peur au début car il n’y a pas de schéma, mais finalement ça se monte sans grande difficulté. Il faut par contre faire attention à bien suivre les explications, car le motif ne supporte aucune erreur !
D’après le patron, l’écharpe a été réalisée avec 3 pelotes de laine Partner 6. Pour ma part j’en ai utilisé 4 car je la voulais vraiment plus longue, et j’ai également rajouté des franges.

Attention ! Dans le patron il manque des légendes, les voici :

4ECD = glis. 2 m. sur 1 aig. aux. placée derr. le trav., tric. 2 m. end. puis tric. à l’end. les 2 m. de l’aig. aux.

This scarf was a nigthmare for me: began in December, just finished yesterday. After knitting the 3/4 of the scarf, I could not stand, it’s too looooong! I put it aside for several weeks, and ended it because one of my relatives wanted it.
After seeing « The Hobbit, » I really wanted cables and Celtic patterns. I looked on Ravelry and I found the perfect project: the Celtic Scarf, by Petit Bout de Moi.
The pattern is a little bit scary at first because there is no drawing, but there is no great difficulty. But you must be careful to follow exactly the pattern, because it does not tolerate mistake!
According to the pattern, the scarf was made with 3 balls of wool Partner 6. For my part I used 4 because I really wanted it longer, and I’ve also added fringe.

Snood Super Tweed

Lorsque je suis allée à la boutique Aléfil, j’ai craqué sur des pelotes de laine Fonty : Super tweed.
Je voulais me faire un snood bien couvrant, et ces pelotes correspondaient à ce que j’avais en tête. J’ai tout de suite été séduite par ces petites couleurs mouchetées.
Cependant, j’ai été surprise par sa taille : l’étiquette indique qu’elle se tricote avec des aiguilles taille 5 mais je la trouve vraiment fine ! Je pense que j’essaierai une taille un peu plus petite la prochaine fois.

When I went to the store Aléfil, I fell in love with the wool : Fonty Super tweed.
I wanted to make myself a well covering snood, and these balls corresponded to what I had in mind. I was immediately captivated by these little speckled colors.
However, I was surprised by its size: the label says it is to be knitted with needles of size 5 but I find it really thin! I think I’ll try a size a little smaller next time.

Ensuite est venu le soucis du modèle : je souhaitais des torsades, un snood large à la base mais serré au niveau du cou. Comme je n’ai pas eu de coup de coeur pour un modèle déjà existant, j’ai décidé d’y allé au feeling et de me débrouiller avec mes petits calculs.

Then came the worries concerning the model: I wanted cables, a large snood but tight at the neck. Since I had not had a crush on an existing pattern, I decided to go with my guts and try to manage with my own calculation.

Au final je suis contente du résultat, il répond bien à mes attentes ! Mais j’ai remarqué en le portant que le derrière rebiquait lorsque je bougeais. Sous un manteau il n’y a pas soucis car il est bloqué par le poids du vêtement, mais sans il ne tient pas vraiment en place.

In the end I’m happy with the result, it is what I had in mind! However, I noticed when I wore it that the back sticks up when I move. Under a cloak there is no worries because it is blocked by the weight of the clothing, but without it it does not stay in place.

Finalement je n’ai utilisé qu’une pelote et demi. Du coup, je vais faire un autre projet avec le reste… (voir deux, si j’ai assez).

In the end I only used a ball and a half. Therefore, I’m going to do another project with the rest … (or two, if I have enough).
